Epi Niu Yer!!!!

Happy New Year everyone!!! Awal Muharram has passed a few days back with us the whole family making the trip back to KL from good ole JB. Me and Hubby made a day trip to Singapore, catched "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (macam kat JB tak der cinema kan...) tapi sebenarnya the real reason for the Singapore trip was for the Beriyani and Murtabak at Arab Street which we went to twice, once upon arriving and once again before we left for JB the same night...Giler punya haru suker murtabak tuh!! And also managed to meet up some friends from KL for coffee on Orchard Road...nih tak plan punyer jumpa tau..Kat KL susah betul nak meet up..

As far as I can remember for the last almost 16 years of living in KL I have never gone to the city to witness the so-called countdown to the new year..So this year I chose to make an exception. We booked a hotel room at Impiana KLCC. Before that, I made my way to Istana Budaya to watch Mamma Mia with a girlfriend who's also my front door neighbor.

A quick review of the show - I think it has been a bit over rated... and also spoilt by the fact that I have watched the movie which I felt was better, although I know I'm not comparing an apple to an apple.. but I was kind of dissapointed... The set were very simple, in fact they used the same set , back and front throughout the whole show with just minor additions to go according to the scenes. The songs, singers/actors and the music were very impressive though. P.Ramlee the Musical gets more stars in my book and I'm looking forward to the come back of PGL as well.

While I was watching MM, hubby and the kids watched Bedtime Stories in KLCC and we arrived back at the hotel just in time for 12 midnight which we shared with many countdowners on the 15th floor of the hotel. 5 minutes of fireworks which excite the kids more than us disillusioned adults..sigh...

This afternoon after checking out, we had brunch at the food republic in Pavillion and now am back home enjoying the rest of this new year day...ahhh...life's good.

Dear Nur 'Aisyah binti Ezral

Hari ni sebenarnya mama lagi nervous dari Aisyah....walaupun bukan mama yang amek PMR dan result hari ni bukan results mama...I know that you have tried your best walaupun kadang-kadang mama cuak sebab bila masuk bilik Aisyah yang macam tempat kucing beranak tu...mama nampak either buku yang baca Aisyah or you will be reading with the radio on full blast or you will be smsing away instead of studying ( Aisyah kan RATU SMS...)The only thing I noticed a lot was you did more Maths work than I used to do when I was your age...which is a consolation for me coz I freaking hated Maths!!

Mama pun risau sebab tak hantar Aisyah pergi tuition macam kawan-kawan Aisyah yang lain...the truth is...

1. I think you can excel without tuition: after all you did well for UPSR..
2. I can spend that money on other stuff like taking you guys to McD, weekend outings, duit pergi gig, pergi RANTAI Aisyah, Mama dgn Ayah boleh pergi more date nights dan lain-lain lagi
3. You can spend more quality time with us... kan? kan? kan? instead of pegi boring classes...

Sebenarnya 2 hari lepas I told ayah...that "I rasa I target 6As jer lah for her" Hehehe...jangan marah...your fault since you kept harping on and on about Geography and BM being tough. I was trying to calm my nerves down and not get my hopes up too high because the truth is harapannya tinggi melangit...kan mama cakap kalau Aisyah tak dapat 8A, mama akan menangis kuat dekat sekolah tu jugak!! Nasib baik Aisyah dapat 8A and save yourself the embarrasment of your mama crying kuat in front of your friends.

I hope and I think I also write on behalf of your Ayah, that you will continue to excel in your studies and inspire your adik-adik to do better because they can. Getting good results is just the basis of other bigger things in life... Yes, life is not about passing exams with good results but exceling in this small part of your life will give you a headstart to doing your best in everything that you do...for this and the after life.

You have made us proud...thank you...and Congratulations...
Arwah Captain Ezral bin Hussein would have been so proud...
