Farewell 2009, Welcome 2010!!!

I'm typing this on my bed, at home...No countdown celebration for me...after all these years, the turning of a new year seems like any other day except for the fact that One Utama was exceptionally overflowing with people early this morning when we went to catch "Alvin and The Chipmunks 2" with the smaller kids...Really we are avoiding even driving near any of the new year revelers...must be the age...hahahaha...

I'm looking forward to driving back to JB tomorrow and whatever comes after that down south on Saturday and hope to be back in KL on Sunday. Monday is the start of the school year for the kids...

2009 has been kind, Alhamdulillah. Except for the passing on of Mummy...I could live with the stuff that happened this year.

2010 will be meaningful...I expect it to be so. Not only it is the turn of a new decade, it will also be the turn of the new decade for me...the big Four Oh..Looking forward to that...after all they say 40 is the new 30..hahaha..

2010 will be meaningful as well as Zaim starts going to the big kids school. I hope he will cope well. It will also be an important year for both, Aisyah and Imran who will sit for the SPM and PMR, respectively. Ah...I will be a bunch of nerves!!

I hope to be able to run in a race this 2010...even if it a 5km fun run..and must be done before April. I'm looking forward to July when the old school girls will reunite for the big 40 reunion in Melaka. I hope to be able to travel as well. I hope to be learning new things professionally even if I have to start from scratch again. I wanna make more moolah this new year..and I want to stay healthy by eating well and exercising more. I want eat less sugar (btw, sugar price is increasing this new year) and less white flour..and I want to sleep earlier...( gosh...it's now 2.10am!!). I want to talk less and think more...

On the home front, I hope to be able to give more opportunities to the kids to learn new stuff as well and at work, to give my subs the chance to explore their full potential as well. I want to be a better person to Allah swt, my Mak, my husband, my kids, my work, myself...semua ar...siapa tak nak kan..Most importantly I want to live and love as I should rightfully do so. I love this song by Kris Allen - Live Like We're Dying....nice melody, smooth voice, ah so true lyrics...so apt for this entry....Happy New Year people...Start living...

Sometimes we fall down and can’t get back up
we’re hiding behind skin that’s too tough
how come we don’t say I love you enough
till it’s to late, it’s not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won’t come
we could make a feast from these crumbs
and we’re all staring down the barrel of a gun
so if your life flashed before you
what would you wish you would’ve done

Yeah… gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start pickin it
every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’
gotta live like we’re dying

We only got
86 400 seconds in a day to
turn it all around or throw it all away
we gotta tell ‘em that we love ‘em
while we got the chance to say
gotta live like we’re dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
who would you call with your last goodbyes
should be so careful who we live out our lives
so when we long for absolution
there’ll no one on the line

We never know a good thing till it’s gone
you never see a crash until it’s head on
all those people right when we’re dead wrong
you never know a good thing till it’s gone

Yeah… gotta start
lookin at the hand of the time we’ve been given here
this is all we got and we gotta start livin it
every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’
gotta live like we’re dying

A Royale treat

The kids checking out the tub..
The many keris on display at the "balairong seri"
The reception area
Enjoying their rendam session

Our room
The walk from Pavi
Embroidered pillow case...
Ehmmm, spent the night with the family at the Royale Chulan Hotel in yesterday. Nak pergi tempat lain, checked and all the hotels are fully booked. I'm lucky that a friend knew a friend in RC so we managed to get 2 connecting rooms there. There are reasons why the hotel is named as such. For one, yeah, it really looked kinda fit for the royals in fact when were there, we saw a few fine lookin wheels with mostly single digit numbers, i guess belonging to some royals. There was even a Humvee parked at the front, tho I couldn't care much for the ugly lookin thing...

Back to the hotel, the RC's building looks like an olden style Malay palace and once inside I can't helped but be impressed with its tasteful decor of Chesterfield settees, what looks to me like Chippendale furniture, vast lobby without leaving you with the feeling of the saratbaratness...hehehe. Their staff are friendly and quite accommodating. We requested for extra 2 towels which they sent to us with 2 extra pillows!

My only regret is that we were only there for a night which made it almost impossible to explore their spa, use their gym or lepak. At least the kids get to swim at their very nice pool. We went for lunch at Pavillion as soon as we arrived and yeah, this is one of the nearest hotels to Pavi, we actually walked there. And for dinner, we enjoyed the stuff at Suzi's corner in Ampang. Their Naan is to pengsan for.

Their rooms are spacious, with en-suite bathroom which as Khairin put it "Mum, the bathroom has a shower AND a bathtub...hehehe.." Nice one... We were also spoilt for choice at the breakfast buffet, which included Japanese, Chinese, local and Western...

I'm definitely coming back....yeah..one day...
The drive home...
